JENNIFER MCDONALD – Gary and I just flew in to Minnesota, which now is not the ideal time to leave 60-70 degree weather to travel to negative temperatures. When we arrived to Minnesota the agent at the rental car company upgraded us to a Dodge Charger because she did not want to walk into the cold to get the keys for the correct car. Gary enjoyed driving the Charger because our son, Kenny, just turned 16 years old and the Dodge Charger is at the top of his “wish list”. This trip was all about visiting friends and looking at Arabian Horses. On this trip we found a beautiful two year old filly at Jerland Farms, and she will be making her way to Scottsdale shortly! Watch for her in some of the springtime shows with Gary at the lead. Also, while Larry Jerome put up a very strong front, I humbly admit that I am the reigning Champion Phase Ten Card Player at Jerland Farms. Larry and Shirley, myself and Gary, had a wonderful time singing some Christmas carols while accompanied by Larry’s amazing Piano talents. It was truly an honor for me to meet such a wonderful family.
The next day we were blessed to have spent the evening with some dear friends of Gary’s that I was so excited to meet. Ross and Terri Danielson have a beautiful facility and such amazing horses! They own a mare, Copper Classique, who has already produced two SuperStars that the Danielson’s sent to Scottsdale for Gary to train and show (one Scottsdale Junior Champion; one Canadian National Champion). Now they have a colt and a filly out of this same mare who I believe will be the next National Winners in their breeding program. The laughs and memories they shared over dinner were wonderful to hear about. I am so excited to have made new friends, and look forward watching all their future success.
I am happy to be home; back in the land of sandals instead of boots. Looking forward to a wonderful Christmas.
