McDonald Arabians Services Contract
Gary McDonald
Gary's story much begins with a family love of horses. His parents having been breeders for almost 40 years. Gary's halter career started with his first Open halter class in 1985 at the age of twelve. Spurred by the enthusiasm to show the offspring of his parents breeding program, as an early teenager, he toured the western states and the local and Regional level. Several trainers and mentors welcomed and assisted Gary in his pursuit to become a respected handler. All of them remain as dear friends still today. In as much as Gary loves the thrill of competition, another passion has developed. "The thrill of assisting in the creation, and breeding selections of future National Winners, is such a rewarding experience."
Gary has served in various elected capacities in the Arabian Horse Community. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. Gary has also been a Regional Show Commissioner for the Region Seven Area. At the inception of the Las Vegas World Cup show and the Arabian Breeder Horse Association, Gary served as the chairman for the Rules and Regulations committee. Gary is a certified judge with Arabian Horse Association, and United States Equestrian Federation since 2005.
The impression that Gary and Holly hope that you gain about McDonald Arabians is that we are straightforward and approachable. To us, family is most important! It is important that our clients feel like family and can trust us like family. It is also important that our team members and employees be treated like family. And the horses are definitely family.
"Nothing will take place that is not in the horse's best interest" continues Gary. "If an owner has a 'win at all cost' mentality, then this is not where you horse belongs. This is also not the right place for an owner who has to wait to hear the judges' results before they decide if they love their horse. But if you love your horse, if you love the shows, if you love the foals and breeding, if you love the travel and experiences, the we'd love for you to become a family member!"
