2010 NEW YEAR’S FARM TOUR PARTY
The Event was fantastic! We appreciate all the support from our Clients, Friends, Arabian Enthusiasts, and First time Attendees. It was a record breaking attendance of a count of over 420+ people. It was the most exciting event ever, and we appreciate all the help behind the scenes, particularly the handlers: Austin Garret & Jodi Datt, who assist Gary in the presentation of the horses. Thank you to friend, Lori Ricigliano, for the following pictures.

2009 Holiday Season Pictures
This is the first year that I’ve stared at the Annual Holiday Pictures of the children and found myself asking “Is it possible that these are my little children, and how did they possibly grow up so fast?” Madyson (at age Fourteen) recently starred in the play Oliver. She is the ‘enforcer’ on her Junior High Basketball team; and is always game to have some fun with her friends. Kenny (at age Twelve) won his first “National Championship; won his first Cadillac that he hasn’t the ability to use; wrote an Award-winning Narrative; and is a Geography All-Star of his school. Alleyna (at age Nine) is blessed to look so much like her mother, Holly. Beautiful in every way. She is always the first one to try something new, and is always the bravest-strongest in any activity. Camille (at age Seven) is the proof that the saying is true: “Blondes always have the most fun!” She is always happy, enthusiastic, and looking for the next source of entertainment. As I look at these beautiful children I find myself with one Christmas wish: “I hope they don’t grow up before I decide what I want to be when I grow up!”

Holly and I had a fabulous time in New York City visiting with Andy and Christine Steffens of Avalon Crest Arabians. It was a wonderful trip of great people, beautiful horses, and amazing surroundings. If you ever get the chance, please go visit Avalon Crest Arabians!

Canadian National Champion Reserve Mare, 2x!
CAFFEINE RTA was purchased by Ross & Terri Danielson at in February 2009. Since then Caffeine has been achieving double. In April 2009 She was crowned Region Seven Unanimous Champion Half-Arabian Mare in the Open as well as the AOTH. In May, she was bred to BASKEAFIRE, and is now carrying the foal for 2010. At the Canadian Nationals, Caffeine again, achieved double-status. 2009 Reserve National Champion Half Arabian Mare in the Open as well as the AOTH. Congratulations to Danielson Arabians, and to Terri’s expert eye in picking out the perfect mare. We are proud to be your friends and to have Caffeine be part of the McDonald Arabians Family.
U.S. National Champion Mare at the Youth Nationals!
When KENNY MCDONALD walked into the arena at the U.S. Youth Nationals Show; he was there for one reason: To claim the prize of National Champion. The mare in which is was honored to be able to represent is SONORA ROSE. Sonora is a 5 year old mare who has accomplished much in her young life. As a show horse she has been a Scottsdale and Regional winner. She has carried and produced 3 offspring all sired by Adoniis. The first is the Two year old son, AMARII, who is owned by Imperial Arabians of Poland. The Yearling filly, MC SOPHIIE is a 2009 Scottsdale Top Ten Open Filly. And a young colt who was just weaned 3 weeks prior to Sonora’s National competition. Most mares would not be able to compete at such a level but that perfect conformation which wins National Titles is also the conformation that keeps her body looking perfect while nursing a foal. Congratulations to Sonora Rose and Kenny McDonald!!
Adoniis Offspring at the Region Three Championships
Three Adoniis offspring competed at the Region Three Championship Show. The show was officiated by expert horsemen - Elizabeth Bentley, Michael Beethe, and LaRae Fletcher-Powell. The Two year old son, AMARII, is The 2009 Unanimous Region Three Champion Junior Stallion, winning by 38 points over his nearest competitor! Amarii is owned by Imperial Arabians of Poland. The yearling gelding, PRIIMARY SUSPECT, is the 2009 Region Three Reserve Champion Gelding Ath. Priimary Suspect is owned by Susan Aberbach of New York, New York. (Remember this is an Open competition with geldings of all ages: very difficult competition for a yearling to contend against the mature geldings). The Yearilng filly, MC SOPHIIE is a Region Three Top Five Sweepstakes Filly and was named the Champion on Elizabeth Bentley’s judging card, and Reserve Champion on Michael Beethe’s judging card. ***Call today to see if an Adoniis breeding is the right cross for your mare!

Memorial Day Trail Ride
There are more National Wins accumulated by these ‘trail horses’ than most Training Barns will ever see. At McDonald Arabians we love the fact that these special Champions are able to also participate in an enjoyable recreational activity. Natalie Jones, Carolyn Shino, Josh Shino, Ross McDonald, Kenny McDonald, Madyson McDonald, and Gary McDonald rode all day until they were sore.

NEW YEARS WEEKEND CELEBRATION

“The New Years weekend was an incredible event for the Arabian horse at McDonald Arabians. Gary and I had such an amazing turn out, we never dreamed so many people would come. I had countless people approach me telling me how excited they were to be invited to such an event. So many have wanted to learn more about the Arabian, they just did not know how or what they needed to do.
This particular weekend, sponsored by arabhorse.com, opened up the barns and personalized everything for them and made them feel welcome and gave them a step in the direction of owning and becoming part of something they would not have known how to do otherwise. It showed to us that the public is longing for that special emotional bond with an Arabian.
Many people were from the Phoenix area and I was surprised to hear of so many that came that were not from the area. They were in town visiting relatives and read about it in the newspaper and planned their whole day around making sure they did not miss the McDonald Arabians Party. I was impressed to hear one family tell me that they wanted to make it to one of the open barn parties and chose us by our website, applauding the way it was done in the representation of McDonald Arabians.
One gentleman had such a hard time finding a parking place that he decided to count the cars which at that time totaled 153.
When all was said and done and the last horse presented, there were those that had stayed around wanting private showings afterward. I reflected on our countless and bountiful blessings to be living our dreams each day. All the thank-you's were overwhelming, but for us, the little children's eyes mesmerized by the Arabian Horse and the adults wonder in their beauty was a sight I will cherish.” By Holly McDonald
